Substance abuse assessments will be offered for the purpose of determining if there is a need for services and if so, what type of education classes/counseling would be most appropriate for the client. An assessment is recommended prior to beginning education classes/counseling to ensure the client’s needs are fully met.
Here are our prices for various tests we can administer at our facility:
6 Panel Includes: Cocaine, Opiates, Methamphetamines, THC, Oxycontin, and MDMA.
12 Panel Includes: THC, MDMA, Morphine, Methadone, Oxycodone, Buprenorphine, Nortriptyline, Cocaine, Amphetamines’, Methamphetamines’, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepine.
Private and face to face, individual counseling will work on a more personalized approach and can cover many diverse topics of counseling and therapy. Michael Richman's MA, LPC, main areas of expertise are Addiction, ADD/ADHD, Anxiety and Depression and Relationship/Marriage Counseling.

Journies continues to offer supervised visitation for parents/loved ones who are being asked to visit with minor children with third party supervision. We have offered this service since 2005 and the program continues to grow. Journies has established a relationship with Kent County Friend of the Court and in addition receives referrals from other agencies, courts, private parties, and attorneys.
Both short and long term visitation is available and the visits take place in a large comfortable furnished room with many toys, games and other activities. Staff is aware of the many different situations which may have brought these clients to our office and are compassionate in regard to those situations. We allow no contact between the custodial/non-custodial parties before, during, or after visits.

This five hour education group meets and is completed in two sessions in the same week, in the beginning of the month. It is also offered in one five hour session bi-monthly. It is geared toward the first time offender who presents with a lower tolerance to alcohol/drugs and who requires basic education and will focus on alcohol with some information on other drugs. Once the client completes the First Offenders Group requirements, a letter of completion will be sent immediately to the referral source.
This group is geared toward a client with 1 or 2 offenses and needs more than a simple educational group. It meets two times weekly for 4 weeks and is offered both during the day and in the evening. The group offers alcohol and drug education, relapse prevention education, the disease concept and more.
Relapse Prevention Group is a forum for clients to create a program of recovery and relapse prevention. The group provides a setting for sharing strategies about relapse prevention and realistic everyday problems and triggering situations. This group is presented with various types of therapies to help and increase coping skills for everyday life.
